The Cash On Delivery module is used to enable the COD feature on the checkout/payment page.
Cash on delivery, sometimes called collect on delivery or cash on demand, is the sale of goods by mail order where payment is made on delivery, rather than in advance. If the goods are not paid for, they are returned to the retailer.
1) Navigate to Extensions > Payments > Cash On Delivery and click o the edit icon.
2) After clicking on the edit icon, enter the relevant data in the fields:
(i) Total Start: Checkout total the order must reach, before COD becomes active
(ii) Total End: The maximum amount below which COD is available
(iii) Order Status: to be kept Processing
(iv) Geo Zone: To be selected as per the requirement (most preferably All Zones)
(v) Status: to be Enabled
(vi) Sort Order: To be kept as per the requirement.
Click on the save icon in the top right corner to save the changes.
3) Next, navigate to Extensions > Order Totals > Cash On Delivery Fee and click on the edit icon.
This module is used to add any extra charges which have to be added to the total order amount while delivering a COD order.
4) After clicking on the edit icon, enter the relevant details:
(i) Store: select the store
(ii) Status: to be enabled
(iii) Sort Order: To be kept as per the requirement
(iv) Fee Type: Fixed Price/Percentage
(v) Fee: the extra amount to be charged on COD orders
(vi) Tax Class: to be kept none
Click on the save icon in the top right corner to save the changes.
